Which size fits your roof: 5-inch or 6-inch K-style
K-style has a flat back that sits against the fascia, and it carries more water than half-round. Five-inch is the common size and fits many houses. Six-inch holds roughly 40 percent more, so it makes sense where more water arrives at once.
Valera looks at the roof at the estimate and tells you which one. He does not sell a bigger gutter than the roof needs.

- Big roofsLong, wide roof planes send a lot of water to one run. Six-inch handles the load.
- Steep roofsWater comes off a steep roof fast and can jump a small gutter. Six-inch catches more of it.
- Long runsA long run collects from a lot of roof. Six-inch with 3x4 downspouts keeps up.
- ValleysWhere two roof planes meet, the water doubles up. Size for that spot, not the average.
- Commercial buildingsApartments, offices and shops usually call for 6-inch with 3x4 downspouts.
- Most housesFive-inch does the job on many roofs. We say so when it does.

How a seamless gutter is made and hung
A seamless gutter is formed from a flat roll of aluminum, cut to the length of each run. No joints along the run means fewer places to leak. On a seamless run the only joints left are the corners, the end caps and the outlets, and each one is sealed.
- Measure the rooflineEvery run is measured so the length is right before any metal is cut.
- One piece per runEach run is a single length, not pieced from short sections.
- Hang and pitchHung on the fascia with the pitch set toward the downspouts so water keeps moving.
- Seal every jointCorners, end caps and outlets are sealed.
Old gutters out
The old gutters come down first
We remove and dispose of your old gutters and downspouts. Taking them off also shows us the fascia behind them, which is the part that rots when gutters overflow. If a board is soft, it should be replaced before the new gutter goes up.

- A look at the fasciaWith the gutter off, soft or stained boards are easy to see.

Questions
Quick answers
- Should I get 5-inch or 6-inch gutters?
- Five-inch fits many houses. Six-inch makes sense for big or steep roofs, long runs and commercial buildings, because it carries roughly 40 percent more water. Valera looks at your roof at the estimate and tells you which one fits.
- What makes a gutter seamless?
- It is formed from one roll of aluminum to the length of the run, so there are no joints along it. The only joints left are corners, end caps and outlets, and each one is sealed. Fewer joints means fewer places to leak.
- Do you take away my old gutters?
- Yes. We remove and dispose of old gutters and downspouts. They come down first, which also lets us check the fascia underneath before the new gutter goes up.
- What colors do gutters come in?
- Aluminum gutters come in a range of colors. Printed color samples never look exactly like real aluminum, so ask Valera about the options at (864) 800-9663.
- Can seamless gutters go on a commercial building?
- Yes. We install commercial gutters and downspouts, usually 6-inch K-style with 3x4 downspouts. Tell us about the building when you call and we will say plainly whether it is a job we take on.
